How to Raid Ocean Outposts
Step-by-step Ocean Outpost raid guide for Tides of Fortune — nine-phase mission flow, Gamma/Beta/Alpha tiers, ship loadouts, dynamite shore assault, and boss evacuation.
Before You Raid
Ocean Outposts are Tides of Fortune's highest-value PvE naval content — multi-phase fortress raids on the Genesis ocean that drop strong weapons, armor, Ship Skill materials, and Hexagon-eligible trade goods. Every raid requires a prepared ship, stocked ammunition, and a plan for three distinct phases.
Select your difficulty tier before departure: Gamma for Sloop solo learning runs, Beta for Brigantine tribal assaults, Alpha for maximum loot with full crew coordination. Read the Ocean Outposts wiki page for tier details and the High Seas Encounters guide for clearing patrol ships en route.
Pre-raid checklist: accept overlapping Bounty Board contracts, stock Reinforced and Incendiary ammunition at your Shipyard, bring repair kits, and scout the target island with a fast Sloop.
Step 1–3: Approach, Bombard, Sink Ships
Step 1 — Destroy defenses: Approach the outpost by ship and open fire on pirate towers with your broadside cannons. Gamma tiers require 6 towers destroyed; Alpha tiers demand up to 11. Use Reinforced Cannonballs for faster structural damage on Beta and Alpha.
Step 2 — Sink enemy ships: NPC Pirate Ships spawn during bombardment. Assign Sloop interceptors to screen your assault Brigantine or kite reinforcements solo on a Sloop Gamma run. After Patch 91.6, Regular Cannonballs damage NPC ships from player-built Cannons.
Step 3 — Land on the outpost: Once shore artillery is suppressed and hostile vessels cleared, beach your ship or swim ashore with your shore team. Keep the assault Brigantine offshore for continued cannon support during dynamite phases.
Step 4–6: Shore Assault and Dynamite
Step 4 — Kill enemies: Clear pirate thralls with combat tames and personal weapons. The Hand Cannon dominates tight interior spaces. Bring a Tidepup healer on shoulder for shore team survivability.
Step 5 — Collect dynamite: Loot dynamite from cleared areas. Assign inventory space before landing — shore runners carry dynamite while combat players maintain perimeter security.
Step 6 — Blow loot stashes: Place dynamite on loot stashes scattered across the outpost interior. Destroying stashes progresses the mission toward the boss spawn. Coordinate detonations to avoid friendly fire on tribal teammates.
Step 7–9: Boss, Escape, and Reward
Step 7 — Kill the boss: Destroying the final stash spawns the outpost boss. Alpha tier bosses hit hardest — bring your full shore team and offshore cannon support. Activate Piracy active abilities like Attack Dinghies for extra firepower.
Step 8 — Escape: You have approximately one minute after the boss falls before the island becomes lethal. Evacuate all shore team members immediately — do not linger for bonus loot. Missing the timer forfeits your reward.
Step 9 — Loot center reward: Claim the center reward after successful evacuation. Return to harbor for repairs, sell premium drops on the Market, and reinvest in skill tree points.
Loadout by Tier
