The damage system applies to both Sloop and Brigantine hulls, though the Brigantine's higher total health pool tolerates more punishment before reaching critical states. Monitor hull integrity through the vessel management interface during and after engagements. Visual damage indicators on the ship model also reflect current condition.
Customization affects damage susceptibility. Heavier tileset structures increase total repair costs without necessarily improving durability. Combat-focused builds accept higher maintenance overhead in exchange for superior firepower — budget repair materials accordingly in your tribal resource planning.
Shipyard Repairs
Full repairs happen at the Shipyard. Dock your damaged vessel, open the repair interface, and contribute required materials. Tribes running active PvP schedules should dedicate a storage box near the Shipyard specifically for repair supplies.
Some skill tree investments reduce repair costs or accelerate repair speed. Merchant and Luxury trees include maintenance perks worth considering for tribes that fight frequently. Piracy builds accept higher repair costs as the price of aggressive combat playstyles.
Field Repairs and Emergency Patches
Field repair kits allow emergency hull patches during extended voyages far from harbor. These kits restore partial integrity sufficient to reach the nearest Shipyard but cannot fully repair a vessel.
