Pick one up to receive a timed waypoint marking a Buried Treasure Cache location somewhere on the map. The timer creates urgency — you must reach the location and complete excavation before expiration or lose the opportunity.
Map acquisition rates depend on beach patrol routes, server population, and competition from other treasure hunters. Efficient farming involves systematic coastline sweeps on a fast Sloop, checking spawn points at regular intervals, and stockpiling bottles for batch excavation sessions.
