Milestone System Basics

Genesis Ascended Part 1 Milestones are structured objectives in your tracker that award Ship Skill points and unlock engrams. They range from simple exploration tasks to complex multi-step challenges. DLC ownership (Tides of Fortune / Bob's True Tales) is required for naval milestones and skill point rewards.

Milestones appear automatically as you progress. Some require prerequisites — later milestones unlock after earlier ones complete. The system guides you through logical progression while allowing flexibility in ordering where prerequisites permit.

Every milestone completed accelerates your naval capability. Treat milestone completion as your primary progression activity, with treasure hunting, combat, and exploration as parallel objectives that overlap milestone requirements.

Phase 1: Foundation (Day 1-2)

Complete Genesis Part 1 introductory milestones teaching remastered biome layouts. These are free content establishing map knowledge for all subsequent activities.

After DLC purchase, prioritize naval foundation milestones: Shovel crafting, Shipyard construction, Sloop building. Follow ship build guide — milestone objectives mirror the guide steps.

First skill point investments: open the Ship Skill Planner and allocate initial points toward your chosen primary tree. Do not spend randomly — plan your build first.

Phase 2: Expansion (Day 3-7)

Creature milestones: tame Tidepup and Parrot using dedicated taming guides. Overlap with treasure milestones by digging caches near wild Parrots.

Treasure milestones: complete multiple treasure map excavations. Use treasure guide for efficient farming. Treasure milestones often award high skill point values.

Skill tree milestones: invest enough points to complete your first tree row and unlock an active ability. This is the most impactful mid-game milestone achievement.

Phase 3: Mastery (Week 2+)

Brigantine construction milestone: upgrade from Sloop to Brigantine for fleet operations and cargo capacity. Requires significant resource investment — pre-farm materials during Phase 2 treasure income.

Advanced milestones: fleet combat victories, high-tier treasure completions, Genesis ocean endgame zones, and secondary skill tree row completions. These award the highest point values.

Completionist goals: 100% milestone catalog for maximum skill points across all three trees. Season pass updates add new milestones through the Bob's True Tales calendar.

Efficiency Principles

Always overlap activities. Never pursue an isolated milestone when parallel actions advance multiple objectives. Sailing completes exploration milestones. Treasure hunting completes treasure milestones. Taming completes creature milestones.

Pick up Bounty Board missions at your Shipyard before every voyage. Missions frequently overlap with milestone objectives for triple progression per activity.

Track point accumulation in the Ship Skill Planner. If your build plan requires 50 points and you have 30, prioritize the highest-point remaining milestones rather than easy low-point completions.

Review the milestones reference after each play session to identify newly unlocked objectives and plan your next objectives before logging off.
